Orr Sela
PhD student of physics, Technion

I am a PhD student of physics in the Technion's string theory group, under the supervision of Prof. Shlomo Razamat.
My research focuses on fundamental aspects of Quantum Field Theory (or QFT), a general theoretical framework used to describe a variety of phenomena in different fields of physics. In particular, I investigate how symmetry can emerge in strongly-interacting QFTs and how the same QFT can describe two or more seemingly-different physical systems. Moreover, I use ideas of this type to microscopically calculate the entropy of black holes in several quantum-gravity models.
